American Funds - Plan Premier

In order to initiate a distribution of your vested account balance, you must request a distribution online at www.myretirement.americanfunds.com, or you may contact American Funds directly via their Customer Service Center 800.204.3731.

Please be aware, distribution fees may be applicable and deducted from your gross distribution amount at the time of the distribution. In addition, your account may be subject to annual account maintenance fees if it remains in the Plan. American Funds - Record Keeper Direct

In order to initiate a distribution of your vested account balance, you must request a distribution online at www.americanfunds.com/retire, or you may contact American Funds directly via their Customer Service Center 800.421.6019.

Please be aware, distribution fees may be applicable and deducted from your gross distribution amount at the time of the distribution. In addition, your account may be subject to annual account maintenance fees if it remains in the Plan. In order to initiate a distribution of your vested account balance, you must request a distribution online at www.participant.empower-retirement.com, or you may contact Empower directly via their Customer Service Center 855.756.4738.

If you are not currently working with or do not plan on being rehired by a participating employer who is a member of the Associated General Contractors of America, San Diego Chapter, Inc., select one of the following options to request a distribution:

  • Request an online distribution at www.ta-retirement.com via your account with Transamerica
  • Contact Transamerica directly via their Customer Service Center at 800.401.8726 to initiate an online distribution or request a distribution package
  • Contact the Distribution Department at Polycomp Administrative Services, Inc. for a Transamerica distribution package at 800.952.8800

Participant FAQs


I've been informed that my retirement plan balance was rolled over to a Polycomp Automatic Rollover IRA. Now what?

Why was my account rolled over to an IRA without my consent?

The retirement plan you participated in contains a provision allowing the plan trustees to distribute a participant’s vested account without his or her consent (often called “involuntary cash-out distributions”). For distributions in excess of $200 and less than $5,000, the involuntary cash-out may be automatically rolled over to an IRA instead of being distributed directly to you. Generally this occurs after we’ve attempted to contact you regarding your retirement plan benefit, and didn’t hear back from you. Your account balance is placed in a money market fund within the IRA account.

Who is administering my Automatic Rollover IRA?

Polycomp Administrative Services, Inc. is the third party administrator for your IRA account. Polycomp Trust Company serves as the Custodian.

Who can I talk to about my account?

Will I pay taxes on this distribution?

Your distribution was rolled directly into an IRA; therefore, it is not taxable. Distributions from an IRA paid directly to you personally may be taxable.

Was there a fee to establish the Automatic Rollover IRA?

The fee to establish the account was $25.

Are there administration fees on the account?

Yes. The administration fees are $12.50 per quarter. Administration fees are automatically deducted from the account the first business day of each quarter.

Can I transfer the money in the Automatic Rollover IRA account to another IRA account?

Yes, you may always transfer the money to another IRA. In order to transfer the Automatic Rollover IRA directly to another IRA, you will need to establish the new account first. Alternatively, you may transfer the account to an existing IRA. Contact the receiving custodian to initiate the paperwork.

Can I take the money out of the Automatic Rollover account now?

Yes. You may take the money out of the IRA as a taxable distribution. Please be aware that in addition to taxes, penalties may apply to the distribution. To request a distribution you will need to complete an IRA Withdrawal Statement. The IRA team will be happy to assist you.
